“Foot traffic here doesn't follow a script. Some Saturdays you can plant yourself behind the table, wait, and watch people come to you on their own. Other days the crowd walks right past a table full of jerky and meal kits unless you step out from behind it and start the conversation yourself. I've had both kinds of days at this market, often in the same month, and there's no reliable way to predict which one you'll get before you show up. My advice: don't build your whole plan around passive selling. Bring a sample tray, make eye contact, ask people what they're cooking this week. On the slow days, that's the difference between a table people glance at and a table people stop at. Worth knowing before you plan your product mix: the crowd here skews white, with Mexican shoppers making up the next largest group and Black shoppers after that. That mix has shaped which of my meal kits sell fastest, and it's worth factoring into what you bring if your product line has some flexibility in seasoning or portioning.”

“The second weekend of the month is the one to circle on your calendar. Paychecks land around then, and shoppers show up with money to spend, not just to browse. If your schedule only allows one weekend a month at this market, that's the one. Hours need to flex with the weather. This is an outdoor setup at The Shed, and Dallas heat doesn't ease off politely. On the hottest afternoons I've closed early because foot traffic dried up once the sun really took hold. On days with a heat warning, I've pushed my opening time back instead, so I'm not standing in peak heat for hours with no one walking by. Either way, check the forecast before you lock in your hours for the day, not after you're already set up. The pattern holds across both factors: people vote with their feet. They show up when they have cash, and they disappear when the heat gets punishing. Plan your booth schedule around both, and the day runs a lot smoother.”

“This spot is worth the setup time if you're thinking about growing your presence in Dallas. The crowd here isn't just walking through, they're shopping with intent. I've watched people beeline straight for a booth once they catch the smell of something cooking, and that's the kind of traffic that turns into sales instead of just foot count. If you're deciding where to put your energy next, this market earns a spot on the list. The volume of people who actually stop, ask questions, and buy makes it one of the stronger outdoor spots I've worked in the area.”
